Sometimes in golf it’s better to not play the ball as it lies, as in the case of an errant Jhonattan Vegas tee shot during the final round of the 3M Championship on Sunday.

Vegas’ ball landed on the arm of a police officer.

That’s not a crime, of course, nor even a penalty, though a PGA Tour official was called in to assist with Vegas’ ensuing free drop.

Vegas was leading the tournament at that point.
