There’s another PGA Tour event this week, but it’s far away from the British Open being played at Royal Troon in Scotland.
The Barracuda Championship is at Tahoe Mountain Club in Truckee, Calif., and it’s the only event of the year that uses the Modified Stableford scoring system. Yes, it’s good to have the highest score.

Young pro Nick Dunlap is one of the bigger names in the field, having won earlier this year as an amateur while playing at the University of Alabama. Canadian Taylor Pendrith is in contention heading into the weekend after winning his first PGA Tour event earlier this year at the Byron Nelson event. Four-time PGA Tour winner Sean O’Hair is also in the hunt. His last victory came back in 2011 at the RBC Canadian Open.
The field is playing for the overall $4 million purse, with the winner taking home $720,000 for his victory.
Here’s the prize money breakdown for each player who made the cut this week in California. Check back here Sunday shortly after play ends for updates.
